Gen Lyra is a video clipping and captioning service at genlyra.com. This notice explains how the service handles your information. Contact the operator through Support for privacy questions or requests.

Information we use

We store your account name, email, password hash, login sessions, plan and credit history. We process the videos and links you submit, audio, transcripts, captions, editing choices and exported clips. We also record request timing, errors, security information and messages you send to support.

Why and where

We use this information to sign you in, process videos, provide support, prevent abuse and manage billing. Cloudflare hosts the website, database and private video storage. Stripe handles web payments. Apple handles iPhone purchases, and RevenueCat receives the app account identifier, purchase records and subscription status to verify them. We do not send your videos or transcripts to RevenueCat or store your full card number. Resend delivers account emails. Processing runs on the operator’s Mac or in Cloudflare processing containers, which temporarily handle your video.

OpenAI receives sampled frames and transcript text for safety screening. Screening can miss material or make mistakes; it is not a guarantee that every video is safe. We do not use your videos to train our own AI models or sell your videos or account information. Service providers handle data under their own applicable terms and privacy notices and may process it in other countries.

Storage and deletion

Uploads and their generated clips expire 30 days after the original upload. A later edit does not extend that date. Projects made from a built-in sample expire 30 days after creation. Download anything you want to keep. Unused temporary uploads are removed after 24 hours.

You can delete a video from Videos. This deletes the source and the clips and edits made from it. Access is removed immediately; cloud file deletion normally finishes within minutes and is retried if storage is unavailable. Processing copies are removed when a job stops or finishes. If the processing Mac is offline, any remaining local copy is removed when it reconnects. Cloud processing containers are temporary; their working files are removed after processing or when the container is destroyed.

Delete your account in Account. This revokes sign-in, removes your profile and videos and cancels Gen Lyra web subscriptions. Apple subscriptions must be cancelled separately in Apple subscription settings. If billing is unavailable, deletion stays pending and retries automatically. Limited payment, credit, fraud-prevention and audit records remain for accounting and dispute handling; they are not available as a usable account. Apple, Stripe and RevenueCat may retain purchase records separately.

Database backups expire after 30 days and are used only for recovery. Deleted records can remain in those backups until expiry. Support requests expire 90 days after their last update, or are removed when you delete a verified account with the same email address. Financial and security records are retained only as needed for billing, disputes and applicable obligations; contact Support about a specific request.

Your choices

You can download clips, delete stored videos and delete your account. Contact Support to request access or corrections, or to raise a privacy concern. We may ask you to prove ownership before sharing or changing personal information.

We use essential sign-in cookies. Public examples are demonstrations; they do not show another customer’s private uploads. Changes to this notice will be published on this page.
